Kerry is very familiar with City Council, despite not being a councilmember, as she is currently on the Planning Commission and has been watching city council meetings for the past three years. She aims to bring a sense of decorum back to the council, as she believes attitudes have shifted in the wrong direction.
As a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft, she is an expert in learning systems and solving problems, and being flexible amidst change and instability is part of her day-to-day. She hopes to bring these skills to the council.
Kerry also believes that increased property taxes aren’t the way to fund the city, but that we should be supporting development in Sammamish to create larger revenue streams. Her focus on continuing the town center development plan — which she has been involved with on the Planning Commission — is a top priority on her agenda.
Kerry understands that balance needs to be restored on City Council, and for Sammamish to grow financially and physically, more development needs to happen. That said, the Eastside Business alliance supports her even keel approach, her leadership, and her initiative in running for City Council.
