Bothell

Position: 2

Since joining the City Council in 2020 after chairing Bothell's Parks & Recreation Board, Mason has taken a leadership role on many critical regional boards including the Puget Sound Regional Council’s Executive Board and Growth Management Policy Board, Eastside Transportation Partnership, and WSDOT’s 405/167 Executive Advisory Group.  His positive impact on land use, transportation, social justice, and climate action issues for Bothell has, since 2022, earned him the council support to thrive as Mayor.

Mason is constantly searching for and addressing the root causes of the problems we face, and is often thought of as an agent for positive change. He understands the financial realities for both residents and businesses in his local and regional policy making, and considers this when making policy decisions. Above all else, he is most interested in solutions to challenges that work over the long-term rather than the short-term.

With his pragmatic, collaborative mindset, Mason is well-positioned to guide Bothell to continued prosperity and access for all.  He has modeled a smart, data-driven approach to governing that we expect will serve Bothell well in the years to come.
